The computer has become the part and parcel of life, varying from simple business applications that have direct impact on day to day life to the complex simulations in industry and space. The computer and IT related services industries are generating the jobs at an exponential rate. Keeping this in mind, the Department of Computer Technology was established to offer a four year B.TECH Programme in Computer science&engineering with an annual intake of 60 students.

The Department has a 1 mbps leased line from BSNL to cater to the web-based browsing needs of students. Also the department is taking a lead role in providing the campus wide networking through optical fiber cable.

The Department has Wireless (Wi-fi) network facility. Students make use of this facility to have connectivity with institute intranet to do curriculum related work during their leisure time and the same time they stay connected to internet.

C Programming Lab

To gain practical experience with the C programming language.

IT Workshop Lab

The IT Workshop for engineers is a 6 training lab course spread over 90 hours. The modules include training on PC Hardware, Internet, World Wide Web and Productivity tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.

PC Hardware introduces the students to a personal computer and its basic peripherals, the process of assembling a PC, installation of System Software MS-Windows, Linux and the required device drivers. In addition hardware and software level troubleshooting process, tips and tricks would be covered.

CS15 introduces students to the field through object-oriented design and programming, using Java. It reinforces concepts with practical exercises in weekly lab sessions and with challenging and engaging programming assignments, such as Doodle Jump and Tetris! Java Programming Lab

Free Open Source(FOSS) Lab

This laboratory has the infrastructure to enable the students to study various linear and non-linear circuit & applications. The lab is equipped with all necessary trainer boards. Students would have opportunity to perform experiments on bread board in down-to-earth understanding mode. Lab is also equipped with computers to undertake simulation experiments.

Database Management Systems Lab

The lab is fully equipped to make the students aware of analog and digital communication techniques. To explore the possibilities of further experimentation on latest digital communication technology in the communication field more and more experiments are added to match the latest developments in these fields. Software named as "COMMSIM" for simulation of various analog and digital communication systems and Spectrum analyzer for measurement of communication signals in frequency domain are also available

Operating Systems Lab

This laboratory is equipped with 9 microwave test benches with all necessary equipments and components, which can demonstrate fundamental aspects of microwave engineering such as generation of microwaves, its propagation through various microwave devices, enables fundamental understanding of various types of antennas through measurement of gain and radiation pattern. Experiments have been designed to demonstrate the basic fundamentals of transmission line theory such as VSWR, use of Smith chart and impedance measurements. It is planned to add the state of art experiments based on micro strip lines which will demonstrate the advancement in the field of microwave engineering.
